JG Thirlwell has been working with Ben Greenberg (Uniform, Z’s, Hubble) at Circular Ruin studios in East Williamsburg Brooklyn, mixing the final and ultimate Foetus album. Thirlwell remarks, “Ben is amazing, and the album sounds absolutely monumental and epic”. The album has been recorded over the last seven years at Self Immolation Studios at the Ectopic Ents HQ in Brooklyn, NY. As usual, Thirlwell has composed all the tracks and played all the instruments on the album, with special guest appearances from Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Timo Ellis (Netherlands, Cibo Matto), Brendon Randall Myers (Scarcity, Dither, Glenn Branca), Laura Wolf, Sami Stevens, Simon Hanes (Tredici Bacci) and Jake Baldwin. The album will be entitled HALT and is slated for release on November 5, 2025 on Ectopic Ents. Stay tuned.

JG Thirlwell finishes Xordox album three!
JG Thirlwell spent two days at Circular Ruin studios in Brooklyn, stem mixing the new Xordox album with Ben Greenberg. Entitled Terraform, the album will be out into the world at a later date. The album’s release will be followed by Xordox live dates in 2025.Ben Greenberg is a well respected and talented engineer and mixer, also known him for some of the bands he’s in, or has been in, including Uniform, The Men, Hubble and Z’s.
Thirlwell on John Carpenter remix LP
Earlier this year, legendary film director John Carpenter released his first album of non-soundtrack recordings, Lost Themes. On October 16, Lost Themes Remixed will arrive on vinyl via Sacred Bones. It collects reworks from JG Thirlwell, Zola Jesus, Blanck Mass, ohGr, Bill Kouligas, and Silent Servant that originally appeared on the deluxe edition of the album, plus two new tracks. The new remixes are Prurient‘s take on “Purgatory” and Uniform (the Men’s Ben Greenberg and ex-Drunkdriver Michael Berdan)’s remix of “Vortex”.
