JG Thirlwell performs at Gregg Foreman Memorial / Vega tribute

JG Thirlwell will be performing at a memorial for his friend and colleague Gregg Foreman, who died in April 2026. Foreman gained recognition in The Delta 72, and also worked with Cat Power, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Pink Mountaintops and more. The evening also serves to commemorate Alan Vega‘s birthday. Gregg Foreman and Vega worked together, and Foreman had helmed several Vega / Suicide tributes in the past. Thirlwell performed the Suicide song “Harlem” with Foreman twice on these tribute nights.

Also appearing at the tribute will be Cat Power, Bob Bert (Sonic Youth / Pussy Galore), Grace Bergere, Jesse Malin, Liz Lamere (Vega’s widow), members of The Delta 72, Cynthia Ross, Genre Is Death, Johnny Scuotto and many more. JG Thirlwell appears at tribute to Suicide

JG Thirlwell will appear at a musical tribute to legendary NYC group Suicide at Bowery Electric on June 20 2024. Also appearing are Martin Rev (Suicide), Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello), Devon Ross, Rocky O’Riordan (The Pogues), Hether Fortune (Wax Idols) , Puzzled Panther, Liz Lamere, Eric Davidson (New Bomb Turks), LG Galleon (Dead Leaf Echo), Peter Gordon, Emilie Simon, Maria Lina, Johann Rashid, Justin Strauss, Cynthia Ross and Zachary Allan Starkey. JG Thirlwell appears at Alan Vega tribute in NYC

Suicde’s Martin Rev will take part in the concert, as will The Cars Ric Ocasek (who produced Suicide’s 1980 sophomore album), Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello), Alan Vega’s son, Dante Vega, plus Kid Congo Powers (Cramps, Gun Club), Bob Bert (Sonic Youth, Retrovirus), Cynthia Sley (Bush Tetras), Peter Zaremba (The Fleshtones), Jon Spencer, Jim Sclavunos (Bad Seeds) and more.Jesse Malin and Mr. Pharmacist (Gregg Foreman) and the musical directors for the show.
