JG Thirlwell’s Archer Soundtracks Volume 2 and 3 Released in Sept 2026

         We’re thrilled to announce the release of two new albums by JG Thirlwell featuring the brilliant soundtrack work that he created for the animated series Archer. The albums are entitled Archer Original Soundtrack Volume Two and Archer Original Soundtrack Volume Three

Volume Two features score created for seasons 9-11 and contains 43 tracks. Volume Three features score created for seasons 12-14 and contains 54 tracks. Thirlwell composed and performed all the music, with occasional guest musicians on select tracks. Thirlwell recorded, engineered, mixed and produced all of the music at his studio, Self Immolation Studios in Brooklyn, NY.

JG Thirlwell started scoring the FX series in 2014, beginning with on season 7. Prior to Thirlwell joining the series the show had been using library music for the score for seasons 1-6.

The show won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Series for season 7. Thirlwell stayed with the show and scored every episode until it was canceled in 2024 after Season 14. Archer Original Soundtrack Volume 1 was released in 2024 by Iam8bit on vinyl and digital.

Archer Volume Two and Archer Volume Three will be released by Disney Music Group via  Hollywood Records, in digital and on all streaming services, on September 19 2026.

Archer wins an Emmy

txkno50o0kgxd0erdarvArcher, the animated satire which is scored by JG Thirlwell, has picked up its first Outstanding Animated Series Emmy on its third consecutive nomination in the category. The episode that clinched the trophy was “The Figgis Agency” , the first episode of Season Seven. Archer edged out stiff competition from last year’s winner Bob’s Burgers, as well as veterans The Simpsons, South Park and the wrapped Phineas and Ferb for the Emmy.

Venture Bros. Season 6 on DVD and Blu-ray

venture-bros-poster-patrick-ledgerAdult Swim has announced that The Venture Bros. Season 6 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 4, 2016. The season features new musical score from JG Thirlwell throughout.

The cult hit series from creator Jackson Publick (The Tick) scored No. 1 rankings among adults and men 18-24, 18-34 and 18-49 for its timeslot when the hotly anticipated sixth season first aired earlier this year, after a 2 ½ year hiatus.

The home entertainment release contains all eight epic episodes from season six, plus the new-to-disc 2015 All This and Gargantua-2 45-minute special. Thirlwell’s musical score for this special was nominated for an Annie Award, the highest accolade in the field of animation.

Episodes included are: “Hostile Makeover,” “Maybe No Go,” “Faking Miracles,” “Rapacity in Blue,” “Tanks for Nuthin’,” “It Happening One Night,” “A Party for Tarzan” , “Red Means Stop” plus All This and Gargantua-2“. Bonus material includes commentaries for every episode and deleted scenes.
