Foetus International Shirt Series #3 – Japanese

japfoetusT_newspageEctopic Ents is proud to announce the third in the series of  “International Foetus Attire” T-shirts – now in Japanese. This striking shirt is printed in red and white on a black shirt. It features a large graphic “Foetus” expressed phonetically in Katakana, while below it says “ultra exploding excitement!” The graphic is 11 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches. (29cm x 19cm). Printed on 100% pre-shrunk cotton Gildan brand shirts, available in Baby Doll, Medium Youth, S, M, L, XL and XL2.

Please note that due to the nature of the double-printing on this shirt, it should only be washed in cold water with the shirt inside out, and dried on a hanger, not in a clothes dryer.

The first shirt in the series, featuring Foetus expressed phonetically in Arabic, is sold out. There remains a very limited quantity of the Russian shirt available, in L and XL sizes only. JG Thirlwell was a member of the choir in a piece by John Duncan on Nov 21 titled “A Fantastic World Superimposed on Reality: A Select History of Experimental Music”

A mini-festival of noise music curated by visual artist Mike Kelley. Staged over two days, the festival will present both historic works from artists such as John Cage, Fred Frith, Fluxus, Bruce Nauman, Stockhausen, and Max Neuhaus as well as performances by contemporary proponents of experimental music including Airway, Joan La Barbara, Tony Conrad, Jad Fair & Lumberob, Arto Lindsay, Genesis Breyer P.Orridge, z’ev, John Zorn,Destroy All Monsters, Extended Organ, Thurston Moore, Ryan Sawyer, Christian Marclay and Shelley Hirsch, John Duncan, And More.

Curated by Mike Kelley. Organized and co-curated with Mark Beasley. Produced and presented by Performa.

JGT_RUSS_6Ectopic Ents has released the second in a series of “International Foetus Attire” T-shirts -now in Russian. The shirt is printed on a white “ringer” shirt, with red bands on the arms and neck. Shirts are 100% pre-shrunk cotton and will be available in S, M, L, XL and XL2.

The first shirt in the series, featuring Foetus expressed phonetically in Arabic, is now sold out. This Russian shirt release will be followed by a design in Japanese .

The Venture Bros Season Four Premiers

Season Four of The Venture Bros premieres October 18 2010 at midnight on Adult Swim / Cartoon Network. This season will air in two parts – the first eight episodes this year, followed by eight more in 2009. Ectopic Ents Presents "BAIT": an exclusive digital compilation

bait_1Ectopic Ents presents Bait -A digital compilation, exclusive to Other Music. It will be available only until Nov 11, 2009, and it costs just under five bucks!

On Bait you lucky people can score a heaping helping of Ectopic goodness – over an hour’s worth of  tracks by Foetus, Steroid Maximus and Manorexia( -all alter egos of JG Thirlwell), dating from 1981 up until 2006. It’s not a career overview -but it casts a broad net.  There is early experimental work, tracks by Foetus (features many sides of the Foetus monster, -from cinematic orchestral bombast, to breakneck bigband, to cathartic cacophony) a live track, two tracks each by Manorexia and Steroid Maximus and even a remix by Amon Tobin.

The unveiling of Bait is to celebrate the digital release of thirteen Ectopic Ents titles: Flow, Blow, Damp, Limb, Deaf, Ache, Rife, Male and Null/Void by Foetus, Radiolarian Ooze and Volvox Turbo by Manorexia and Quilombo and Gondwanaland by Steroid Maximus Outside of Other Music (and, of course, www.foetus.org) these titles will also be available digitally via Itunes, Other Music, Emusic, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, ILike, Zune and Medianet. JG Thirlwell at Carnegie Hall with U2 and more for Gavin Friday

JG Thirlwell appeared at the Gavin Friday and friends concert at Carnegie Hall on October 4th 2009. Curated by Hal Wilner to celebrate Gavin’s 50th birthday, this stellar concert  featured Laurie Anderson, Antony, Elizabeth Ashley, Bono, Adam Clayton, Andrea Corr, The Edge, Flo & Eddie, Joel Grey, Bill Frisell, Guggi, Scarlett Johannson, Courtney Love, Lydia Lunch, Patrick McCabe, Maria McKee, Eric Mingus, Larry Mullen Jr, Martha Wainwright, Rufus Wainwright, Chloe Webb, plus special guest Lady Gaga and more. The slow birth of Hydroze Plus

Hydroze Plus is a new project which is a collaboration between JG Thirlwell and Fred Bigot of Electronicat. Recorded in Berlin in spurts over the last few years, their debut record is finally being prepared to be unleashed. It will be a four track clear vinyl ten-inch which will be released by in the near future by the French label Optical Sound. Watch here for further details.
