The lyric video for the Foetus song “Succulence“, was just published on JG Thirlwell’s YouTube channel. “Succulence” is featured on the new Foetus album HALT.
The video was produced, created and directed by JG Thirlwell.
The music on “Succulence”is composed, produced, engineered and performed by JG Thirlwell. All instruments played by JG Thirlwell except drums, which are played by Brian Chase of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
The first part of the song is a reference to “sound off”, which is a call and response chant that is employed by the military during basic training. As the troops march or jog, the commander shouts a phrase and the troops echo the phrase in unison.
The Foetus album HALT is available at the Foetus Shoppe as double colored vinyl, deluxe digipack and digital.
