The piece, entitled &#8220;<strong>Xigliox<\/strong>&#8220;, has finally been recorded and will be released on Ilgenfritz&#8217;s second solo album, <a href=\"https:\/\/infrequentseams.bandcamp.com\/releases\"><em><strong>Origami Cosmos<\/strong><\/em><\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/infrequentseams.com\"><strong>Infrequent Seams<\/strong><\/a> on March 24 2017. &#8220;Xigliox&#8221; is described as &#8220;a work that constantly careens from lyricism to ferocity, from precision to frenetic abandon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The album also feature pieces written for Ilgenfritz by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anniegosfield.com\"><strong>Annie Gosfield<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elliottsharp.com\"><strong>Elliot Sharp<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miyamasaoka.com\/\"><strong>Miya Masaoka<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Origami Cosmos<\/strong><\/em> is described as : &#8220;From hypnotic drone works involving Just Intonation and use of multiple bows to astounding feats of technical virtuosity, this collection of works brings hyper- complexity, improvisation, and lyrical beauty together into a deeply personal tour-de-force of musical invention. &#8220;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JG Thirlwell was commissioned by James Ilgenfritz to write a composition for solo contrabass.
