I stumbled on these two trailers - they are for a Dutch nazi zombie movie that was cancelled eventually. Isn't the music familiar? :)

Same here! Awesome album, and very interesting to hear these tracks I'm so familiar with in their electronic versions in an arrangement for actual instruments. The signed extra booklet was a very nice touch as well!

11/16-17: JG Thirlwell performs “We Are The Dead” as part of the Losers Lounge tribute to David Bowie, Westbeth Theater Centre, New York, NY, USA. Also performing were James Iha, Ann Magnuson, Nick Danger, Joe Budenholzer and Nada Surf, along with other guests and house band The Kustard Kings.

That is one I would love to hear - big Bowie fan, and We Are The Dead seems like a good fit for Thirlwell. Anyone have a recording perhaps? :)

There's also the cover of Warm Leatherette (originally by The Normal), on the Fractured Recordings box set.

That sounds awesome! New Foetus is always good, and the Manorexia albums are two I keep going back to.
I always thought one of Thirlwell's strengths is his placement of sounds, so I wonder how that translates into surround sound?

Quite a nice compilation. I don't think I'll be buying it as I have all the original cd's, but a good introduction to the man's work nonetheless.

This looks interesting though (from the first link):

And I'll be releasing three brand new albums in 2010.

So that would be a new Foetus album, Manorexia chamber arrangements, plus? Any ideas?

Manorexia / Re: Manorexia radio documentary???

I think they might be talking about this:

It's a BBC documentary about Manorexia - as in males with eating disorders :)

This item cannot be shipped outside the U.S.A. and Canada.

Aargh! Is there anyone here who would order an extra copy and send it to me (in the Netherlands)? I'll reimburse all costs of course!

Where is Vika from? Is that from the chamber version of manorexia that JG mentions in the Fazer interview (http://www.fazer.ca/2009/01)?
It sounds terrific in any case!

Venture Brothers / CD free with Season 3 Blu-Ray
« on: December 06, 2008, 05:44:22 AM »
According to this article:
http://dvd.ign.com/articles/936/936222p1.html

The Blu-Ray release of Season 3 of the Venture Bros will be "packaged with an exclusive CD which includes 20 tracks that comprise the full musical score from the television series' third season."

I guess this disc will be different from the "Volume One of The Venture Brothers Original Soundtrack by JG Thirlwell will be released by  Williams Street Records in March 2009." that is announced on the news page?

Kinda sucks as I don't have a Blu-Ray player. Hmmm.
