Anne Senstad book publication event

Anne Senstad is a multi-disciplinary artist from Norway, who works in sculptural installations examining light, sound, and color. JG Thirlwell has provided the sound environment for many of her pieces.

A new book, Neon Guides Me, chronicles her work, and on Nov 5 2022 there will be an event at The Emily Harvey Foundation in NYC to celebrate the publication. Anne Senstad, JG Thirlwell and  Brooklyn Rail editior Tom McGlyn will have a panel discussion, followed by a video talk with publisher Praun & Guermouche, and a neon installation on view.

The Emily Harvey Foundation, 537 Broadway #2 NYC 10012. The event is from 4pm-6pm and the panel discussion happens at 4.15pm. Free admission.

NEON GUIDES ME includes texts by JG Thirlwell and Patrick Rolandelli, Catherine Christer Hennix, Andres Kurg, Erik Meling, Sanna Karimäki-Nuutinen, Dr Aura Seikkula, Marianne Solberg and Sarah Walko.

Senstad's "Swamp" with JGT screens at ArtBasel, Miami

12193725_526655147491008_6265729650784577381_nAnne Senstad’s installation film “Swamp”, which is soundtracked by JG Thirlwell, will screen at ArtBasel Fair in Miami from Dec 2-5, 2015. It is in a program entitled Decomposing Hierarchies , also including works by Catherine Page Harris, Orit Ben-Shitrit, Margeaux Walter Studio, and Jeannette Ehlers. It’s all part of a larger program entitled Form and Substance : A Projection, Mapping and Light Exhibition and will take place at the iconic InterContinental in Miami.

"The Swamp" On The Brooklyn Bridge

Vinstallation5Swamp1On Nov 5 2015, the video projection exhibition Decomposing Hierarchies,will take place in Dumbo, Brooklyn, projecting film on the Brooklyn Bridge Anchorage. There will be a screening of The Swamp, an installation film by Anne Senstad which includes a soundtrack by JG Thirlwell. The exhibition is curated by Sarah Walko and runs between 7pm and 10pm. The program also includes works by Jeannette Ehlers, Orit Ben‐Shitrit, Margeaux Walter and Catherine Page‐Harris.

Anne Senstad exhibits in NYC with JG's sound

The exhibition includes Anne Senstad‘s video piece “The Lockerplant Projections“, which features sound by JG Thirlwell.The piece was previously shown at Centre Pompidou, Haus der Kulturen der Welt and Beirut Art Center with Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid in 2011. The exhibition also contains works by Rubin415, Ye Hongxing, Desire Obtain Cherish, Jessica Lichtenstein, Jeremy Flick and Oona Ratcliffe and will run until October 29 2014.
