Released under the moniker You’ve Got Foetus On Your Breath, the DEAF album was originally released in 1981 on JG Thirlwell’s Self Immolation label, whilst he was resident in London. Over the years the album has become a highly sought-after collectors item.The 2019 reissue was remastered by Josh Bonati and is in a limited run on red vinyl.
The album is packaged with a reproduction of the original promo poster from the album and a digital download card, and is available here from the Foetus Shoppe.
We are proud to announce the issuing of the fourth limited edition silkscreen print by JG Thirlwell, entitled Pomoscape #4. This gorgeous art piece is a signed and numbered four-color screen print in Thirlwell’s signature palette of black, red, white and gray. The artwork is in a very small edition of 75, but only 60 copies will be made available in the Foetus Shoppe. The print sells for $75.00 plus flat postage and packaging fee of $15 in the US, $20 in Canada and $26 in the rest of the world. Since the print ships in a tube by itself, when ordering the print you cannot order other items in the same shipment. Other items (CDs, T-shirts, vinyl, tote bags, digital) must be ordered separately.
JG Thirlwell has been commissioned to create a new composition for new music guitar quartet Dither. It will premiere at the 2019 edition of Dither’s Extravaganza, a ‘raucous festival of creative music and art’. The event will occur at 17 Frost Theater of the Arts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Sunday October 27 from 2pm – 9pm.
Along with the world premiere of JG Thirlwell’s new prepared guitar piece for Dither entitled ‘Feather Mask‘, the day long concert will feature Mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran, Mivos Quartet,Yva Las Vegass, Naeemah Z Maddox, Ryan Power, Tredici Bacci,Gyan Riley‘s Elixir featuring Taylor Levine, David Cossin & Greg Chudzik, Shelley Washington, an electronics/noise duo from Paula Matthusen & Philip White plus Jim Fletcher (Wooster Group/Elevator Repair Service/New York City Players) joining music/theater duo James Moore & Andie Tanning
JG Thirlwell presents the European premiere of his new ‘Silver Mantis’ project on October 20 2019 at Cafe Oto in London. ‘Silver Mantis’ is a four channel solo performance using prepared piano, electronics, and theremin, performed in front of immersive new visuals by Swedish visual artist Sten Backman. A truncated version of ‘Silver Mantis’ was presented at Roulette in NYC in July but this will be the debut of the full length version.
